”Within HealSafe Interiör, we want to do our part by developing our sustainability work. We do this by setting the right requirements towards our suppliers, carrying out continuous sustainability work within Healsafe Interiör and helping our customers make sustainable choices.”

This is our last and 10th concept – ECOLOGICAL SUSTAINABILITY – in our series of a total of 10 concepts that we highlight during our 10th anniversary.

ECOLOGICAL SUSTAINABILITY

Within HealSafe Interiör, we want to do our part by developing our sustainability work. We do this by setting the right requirements towards our suppliers, carrying out continuous sustainability work within Healsafe Interiör and helping our customers make sustainable choices.

Holistic thinking

HealSafe Interiör is an interior design company. Already in the design stage, we must choose a design that provides conditions and opportunities to minimize waste, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, recycle and reuse materials and products. In product development and manufacturing, we strive to enable material recycling. Our goal is to enable the reuse of our products and work with circular methods.

This is what we do

In addition to the safety aspect, HealSafe Interiör’s products are characterized by the fact that they are very robust, which gives a long life and good durability in relation to comparable products.

Life Cycle Analysis – LCA

We are now carrying out a so-called LCA, i.e. “life cycle analysis” where we initiated the work together with our furniture supplier Pineapple. Together we review and analyze the materials used, the energy used to manufacture the products and the CO2 emissions they cause. We intend regularly report this to our customers.

The ambition is to over time carry out life cycle analyzes on all products.

Our products last longer compared to competing products. But one day they will be worn out. An important part of our work is then being able to offer that the products are returned, either to HealSafe Interiör or that they are used in an existing recycling system.

Transportation

HealSafe has chosen to cooperate only with European suppliers. One of the important reasons for this is that we want to minimize the transport distances. However, all products must be transported, and we choose the most energy-efficient way. As far as possible, we avoid transport by air.

Sustainability

We work in an integrated manner with the various aspects of sustainability – ecological, economic and social sustainability. We have previously reported our approach and our results regarding the latter two aspects. Ecological sustainability in its isolation is about, among other things, choosing to eliminate toxic materials as much as possible with the ambition to choose materials and transport that are fossil-free.

Prioritizing the user requirements in our design work, sometimes forces us to choose fossil-based plastics for our products – for reasons such as best safety, robustness and longevity – but then we still choose materials that are non-toxic. These choices have a positive impact on economic and social sustainability.

However, our endeavor to also optimize the ecological sustainability of our offers continues.
